Q:

WHAT IS YOUR CORE PHILOSOPHY WHEN TRAINING ATHLETES?

A:

A: In order to optimize a training program, I take several factors into consideration. These factors are from the evidence-based model of training: I research the science and try to understand the literature as it applies to the given topic. I incorporate the goals, needs, and abilities of the athlete. Finally, I use the expertise that I’ve gained from training a large array of athletes on-court and in the weight room.

Q:

WHAT KIND OF SPECIAL TECHNIQUES OR METHODS DO YOU USE TO HELP YOUR CLIENTS REACH SUCCESS?

A:

Besides incorporating the evidence-based model into my workout prescriptions, I also utilize the principles of progressive overload and specificity. These principles are vital for continual adaptation in the relevant tasks important to the athlete.
